Fresh flower care

Fresh flower care

How you care for your cut flowers determines how long they will last!

  • You don’t want any leaves in the water.  Leaves that are in the water will begin rotting, making the water dirty and killing your flowers!  Flowers fresh from the farm are thirsty.   They use a lot of water in the first couple days so check water level daily.

  • Put clean water in your vase every 2-3 days.  You should have received a flower food packet with your flowers.  Either add that to water when you get home or with your first water change.

  • Trim the end of the stems about ½” when you change the water. The fresh cut allows water to be drawn up the stem easier.

  • It may seem like flowers would need to be near sunlight, but this will actually kill them! Growing plants need light, but to preserve your fresh cut flowers, keep them out of direct sunlight.
